Learn How to Overcome Life Challenges to Create the Future You Want to Experience

In my last newsletter, I defined the difference between "a" and "the" and how those two little articles of the English language significantly impact your spiritual evolution.


As promised, I am following up those thoughts with a guided process of implementing the change you want to make to create the future you want to experience. I call it the problem-solving wheel.

Let's go through the spiritual (spiritual as defined as to look within) problem-solving steps. I will use weight loss as an example, but this process applies to all challenges you and your soul must overcome to evolve.

Step 1: Identify the Problem


This sounds easier than it is, which I call typical universe-speak. Weight loss is an easy problem to choose, but for this to be a spiritual step of evolution, you must dig deeper. Why do you want to lose weight? Is it vanity? Is the weight gain a result of a biological dysfunction you may or may not be aware of? Is it that you feel heavily as a result of an emotional disorder like depression (eating to feel good) or lack of confidence or self-esteem? 


A person might be gaining weight for thousands of reasons, and the problem will not be that you are heavier than you want to be. That is the symptom. 

Step 2. Analyze the Problem


There will be three general conditions about why this problem exists. You know exactly what you think you might or don't know (even if you think you do). In my last newsletter, I said for you to plan a course for a destination, you need seven points. The intersection of three-axis lines will create an exact destination point, but you need an accurate starting point to plan a course. (watch a video explaining it better than I do) That is what you are investing energy to discover. Why exactly does this challenge you have to overcome exist?


Step 3. Generate Solutions


Let's say, for this example, the weight gain is a result of a fatty liver or similar minor medical condition. You would have had to go to the doctor for a physical, including blood work, to find this analysis. Fatty fivers are much more common than their diagnoses because people don't invest the effort of proper due diligence and assume the weight gain is for another reason. You need to analyze the problem accurately; as noted in step 2, you don't have a starting point to plot a course. 


Now, let's generate solutions. If you were to research possible solutions to fix a fatty liver, you might discover these lifestyle changes as options:


  • Maintain a healthy diet: Focus on consuming a well-balanced diet low in saturated fats, added sugars, and processed foods. Include plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats such as those found in nuts, avocados, and olive oil. A Mediterranean diet effectively reduces fatty liver disease, but you can research many others, including the pescatarian diet.


  • Exercise regularly: Regularly exercise to help reduce liver fat. Aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise (such as brisk walking, swimming, or cycling) each week.


  • Lose weight: If you are overweight or obese, losing weight can significantly improve your liver health. Even a modest weight loss of 5-10% can positively impact reducing liver fat.


  • Limit alcohol consumption: Excessive alcohol consumption can contribute to fatty liver disease. It's important to either abstain from alcohol or limit your intake as advised by your healthcare provider.


  • Stay hydrated: Drinking an adequate amount of water can help promote liver function and support overall health. Aim to drink plenty of water throughout the day.


  • Avoid medications contributing to liver damage: Certain medications can worsen fatty liver disease. Consult with your healthcare provider to ensure your liver's medications are safe.


It's important to note that these recommendations are general guidelines. If you have been diagnosed with fatty liver disease, it is crucial to consult with your healthcare provider for personalized advice and treatment options. They can provide you with specific recommendations based on your individual health needs.

Step 4. Choose and Plan Solutions


The solutions we generated to reverse gaining weight from fatty liver disease involve significant lifestyle changes, mostly diet and exercise. On the one hand, we identified and created a plan of action to activate the future we want to create for ourselves. On the other hand, we now have to invest energy and effort in implementing our plan. Here's where most souls do not accomplish their desired tasks.


Temptation now comes into play. My definition of temptation is that it only wants to keep you from the light, and in this case, the light is creating a healthier version of yourself. Sloth might be the strongest temptation you'll encounter for this task, but there could be more. I bring this up now because if you don't plan to defeat temptation, you don't beat it.


Step 5. Implementing Solutions


You have your diet plan; maybe you bought a recipe book and stocked your freezer with healthy meals for days you don't want to cook. Your scale is ready, and you have added yoga and exercise sessions to your YouTube playlist. You checked your upcoming schedule for any events that might put you in a position of weakness and planned ahead to be prepared to overcome the temptations that will try to make sure your liver stays fatty and unhealthy. You have a start date and an end date where you will reevaluate your progress and your plan.


Step 6. Evaluate Solutions


You have arrived at your end date. Now, it is time to review your effort. It won't be perfect. You will have given in to some temptations, discovered flaws in your plan, or created too lofty a goal for yourself. Even though you had some hitches, if you keep your effort and energy focused on reaching the desired destination, you should have seen some progress. Maybe you didn't lose ten pounds, but you lost six. 


Even if you failed miserably, remember there is no judgment, so you didn't fail because you did evolve. All you need to do is break out the spiritual problem-solving wheel again and restart the process. The new insights you have from your newfound evolution will help you define and create a more efficient means of creating the future you wish to experience.


I won't say it's easy, but I am living proof that it works.
